The Delta 17 sits at the top of Delta's performance touring lineup, and it earns that position through a combination of refined hull geometry and thoughtful outfitting rather than marketing language. The shallow V hull, moderate rocker, and well-defined chines deliver high initial and secondary stability, which means novice paddlers gain confidence quickly while more experienced paddlers have a responsive platform to work with in surf, chop, and technical conditions. The longer waterline translates to efficient hull speed and quick acceleration, and the sharp bow cuts cleanly through whatever the water throws at it.
The Contour Seat System adjusts four inches fore and aft for precise trim, with a self-draining padded seat pan, adjustable backrest, and padded thigh braces that give you the contact points needed for solid bracing and rolling. The rear deck is kept flat to support self-rescues, and the slightly higher deck profile makes wet exits and re-entries easier for larger paddlers. Three Press-Lock thermoform hatches seal a cavernous storage system across bow, stern, and centre day hatch, with curved bulkheads maximising both volume and buoyancy. Built in Maple Ridge, British Columbia with Solarkote UV-resistant thermoform construction, the Delta 17 is as Canadian as the water most of us paddle on.
