Zegul - Arrow Play HV A Core

Zegul Kayak Arrow Play HV

For bigger paddlers who want a sea kayak that's genuinely fun to throw around in rough water without sacrificing the ability to cover real distance, the Zegul Arrow Play HV delivers on both counts.

Designed by Danish kayak designer Jesper Kromann-Andersen and built in A-Core fibreglass, the Play HV is the high-volume member of the Arrow Play family, sized for paddlers in the 175 to 240 lb range. The moderate-to-aggressive rocker and shallow-arched hull make it noticeably playful in dynamic water, and at 16'9" it's more manoeuvrable than the longer Play MV. Load it up for a tripping run and the rocker profile settles, extending the waterline and improving straight-line efficiency for multi-day paddling. Hard chines give the hull predictable secondary stability and confident edging, while the rounded mid-ship profile lets it transition smoothly from edge to edge when conditions get interesting. The rockered bow handles following seas with real enthusiasm.

A-Core construction brings sandwich deck reinforcement, a heavily protected keel, and robust aramid seam taping inside and out, making this a durable choice for the kind of rough landings and rocky coastlines that come with pushing your paddling. The keyhole cockpit is 32.5" x 16.25" and fits larger paddlers well once you're seated, with a contour backband, solid thigh braces, and adjustable footpegs providing the contact points needed for bracing and rolling. The flat rear deck handles self and assisted rescues cleanly, and four Kayak Sport VCP-style hatches including a mini foredeck pod keep gear accessible on longer outings.
