Helle - GT Knife
Helle GT Knife
In production since 1997 and still drawing a dedicated following, the Helle GT is a fixed blade that has stood the test of time for good reason.
The GT's barrel shaped curly birch handle is one of its most recognisable features, a classic Scandinavian profile that accommodates most hand sizes comfortably and runs long enough for larger hands to grip fully without feeling cramped. Leather spacers add grip texture and visual character between the wood and the aluminium finger guard, which provides a solid, positive stop between hand and blade during heavier work. The triple laminated stainless Helle steel blade arrives hand polished to a hair popping edge straight from the sheath, a standard that reflects the care that goes into finishing at the Helle factory in Holmedal.
At 123mm the blade offers real versatility for camp tasks, food prep, and bushcraft use, while the 3.2mm spine provides enough thickness to handle harder cutting without sacrificing the clean slicing performance of the classic Scandi grind. Named after the German Globetrotter company whose input helped shape the final design, the GT carries an interesting bit of collaborative history alongside its practical credentials. It's the kind of knife that gets handed down.
