A bilge pump handles the bulk of the water after a wet exit or a splash, but it's the sponge that gets the last of it out. The NRS Deluxe Boat Sponge is the finishing tool that leaves your cockpit genuinely dry rather than just mostly dry.

Absorbing up to 24 ounces of water at a time, this sponge reaches the low points of a kayak hull where a bilge pump simply can't follow, pulling out the residual water, sand, and grit that settles under a sprayskirt or collects in the bilge. It works equally well as a standalone tool on calm days or in combination with a bilge pump after more serious water ingress. At 8" x 4.5" x 2" it fits easily into a cockpit or day hatch without taking up meaningful space.
