NRS - Storm Hood

NRS Storm Hood

Cold water rolling and winter paddling demand head protection that actually keeps water out, and the NRS Storm Hood is built for exactly those conditions where a simple cap isn't enough.

The 2.5 mm neoprene provides serious insulation against cold water and wind, and liquid-sealed seams take the waterproofing a step further than standard flat-lock stitching alone. Titanium laminate adhesive reflects your body heat back to you, and the interior is lined with quick-drying Checked VaporLoft that eliminates the cold, clammy feeling of pulling a wet neoprene hood on first thing in the morning. A barrel-lock drawcord around the face opening lets you cinch the fit down snugly to eliminate flushing, and a sturdy flexible bill keeps water and sun out of your eyes.

The long collar is a key feature for dry suit and dry top users. Sandwiching it between the overcuff and neck gasket minimises water entry at the neck junction, one of the most common places warmth escapes in cold water paddling. For the best seal, tuck the bottom of the hood inside the outer collar of your dry top or drysuit. If you plan to wear the Storm Hood under a helmet, the 2.5 mm neoprene may require sizing up to your next helmet size.
