NRS - Tow Tether with Carabiner
NRS Tow Tether with Carabiner
In a swift water rescue situation, having the right tow system rigged and ready on your PFD can make all the difference. The NRS Tow Tether is a purpose-built rescue accessory designed to work with quick-release harnesses on rescue life jackets.
Sometimes called a cow tail, the Tow Tether uses a built-in bungee to absorb shock loads during towing, reducing the jolt on both the rescuer and the swimmer or boat being towed. The stainless steel O-ring at one end includes a hook-and-loop patch that centres and holds the ring securely against the loop material on the back of compatible rescue PFDs. A matching hook patch on the carabiner end mates with loop material on select rescue vests, creating a quick-release holder that keeps the carabiner accessible but secure until you need it.
The NRS Nuq Twist Lock Carabiner is a considered choice here, designed to resist accidental snagging on brush, rocks, or other gear in the field, where an unexpected gate opening at the wrong moment is a serious concern. Available in two lengths to suit different rescue setups and paddler preferences.
- Available lengths: 33" (stretched 84 cm, unstretched 48 cm) and 53" (stretched 135 cm, unstretched 84 cm)
- Add 15 cm for carabiner and O-ring hardware
- Built-in bungee for shock absorption during towing
- Stainless steel O-ring with hook-and-loop centering patch
- Hook patch on carabiner end for quick-release PFD compatibility
- NRS Nuq Twist Lock Carabiner for snag resistance
- Designed for use with quick-release rescue PFD harnesses
