Werner - Stikine Bent Shaft
Werner Stikine Bent Shaft
These are ordered and stocked with 30 degree Right Hand feather. Custom orders available for length, offset, and small shaft, allow 4-8 weeks for delivery to shop. Call 613-376-6220 or email info@frontenacoutfitters for more information.
Named after one of Canada's most legendary Class V wilderness runs, the Stikine Bent Shaft pairs Werner's most advanced whitewater blade with the ergonomic advantages of the Neutral Bent shaft. For serious creek boaters and river runners who are hard on their bodies as much as their gear, that combination matters on long, committing days in the canyon.
The full carbon blade is buoyant by design, which is critical for rolling and bracing in the aerated, turbulent water that defines difficult whitewater. Whitewater-specific reinforcement channels in the low-profile back face maintain blade strength without adding weight, while keeping the catch quiet and the exit clean. Dynel edge reinforcement and Kevlar construction deliver Werner's proven durability against the rocks and hydraulics of demanding runs. Dihedral keeps every forward stroke smooth and predictable regardless of what the river is doing around you.
The Neutral Bent shaft reduces wrist and joint strain through the high-intensity, repetitive strokes of hard river running, while retaining a feel that's familiar enough that the transition from a straight shaft is minimal. For paddlers logging big days on technical water, this is a meaningful upgrade. Stocked at Frontenac Outfitters in 30-degree right-hand feather. Custom lengths, offsets, and small shaft options are available with a 4 to 8 week lead time.
